Efforts have been made to strengthen cooperation in the human resources development through various training courses including those on agricultural technology and management, and to seek solutions to technical bottlenecks needed to be tackled urgently in repose to the needs in the development of agro-technicians in the process of agricultural development in ASEAN nations. In recent years, the two sides have carried out a number of cooperation projects in human resources development, technical exchange, demonstration and experiments and agricultural trade and commerce. From 2002 to 2004, the MOA China organized 25 technical training courses for ASEAN nations with more than 500 technicians and managerial staff attended. These training courses covered a wide range of agro-technologies including hybrid rice farming, animal nutrition, feed processing, surveillance and control of animal disease, cultivation of high-yield potatoes, rural energy and ecology, balances fertilization, agro-informationization, fish farming in paddy rice field, pig production, cultivation of edible and medicinal fungi, and management of seeds. These courses produced appreciable efforts, became popular and received high evaluation from ASEAN nations.
